Job Description

Our client is an industry-leading poultry breeding company with sophisticated operations located in Bodangora, NSW, and surrounds. They are currently looking for four Poultry Farm Workers at their farm in Bodangora, New South Wales, starting on or around November 6, 2023.

You will be paid under the Pastoral Award above award rate at $24.50 per hour on a full-time contract with an average minimum of 38 hours per week.

The Role

You will be required to work in a poultry environment with dust and the smell of livestock. You must not be afraid of getting your hands dirty and must be comfortable working with live and deceased birds; all animals must be handled gently and compassionately. And You must be a team player who is physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting.

Poultry Farm Worker Key Responsibilities

  • Control pests and vermin
  • Operate farming equipment
  • Prepare and clean sheds, and equipment, and spread litter for new bird placement, plus set up for depopulation and cleanout
  • Catch and hold birds and perform other aspects of bird handling and welfare activities
  • Carry out general maintenance of poultry farm grounds
  • Clean, disinfect (sanitize) equipment, machines, and buildings within farm confines
  • Dismantle farm equipment
  • Collect, grade, and store eggs to Company specification

Key Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Animal Welfare codes
  • Good understanding of equipment and environmental management
  • Clear communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to interpret data and data entry skills
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety
  • No asthma or dust allergies
  • Physically fit and comfortable carrying out labor-intensive duties
  • A team player and happy working with a multicultural team
